Elimination of Bacteria
AquaKlear's electrical field kills bacteria reducing the need for chlorine. It does this by electrically charging bacteria, attracting a layer of extremely pure water, which contains no salt at all. The water from this layer is then forced into the bacteria through osmosis, killing the bacteria.
Improved Chlorine Effectiveness. Less Chlorine Needed
Regular pool use reduces chorine's effectiveness because urea, a chemical from human sweat, continuously mixes with chlorine , producing chloramines (fixed chlorine), which are not effective at killing bacteria. It's also chloramines, not chlorine itself, that produces the smell we associate with pools. The free chlorine is continuously being converted to fixed chlorine, and more and more chlorine needs to be added to the pool. The AquaKlear signal applies an electric field to the chloramines molecules, pulling them apart and thereby releasing the chloramines. Additionally, because the AquaKlear signal removes organic materials via improved filtration, there are fewer organic molecules to form chloramines in the first place, keeping your pool crystal clear, algae free and smelling fresher.
Improved Filtration
AquaKlear improves filtration and reduces the frequency and duration of filter backwashing by approximately a factor of three or more. Acting as a sieve allowing water to pass through but picking out particles, filters remove small suspended particles from water. The smaller the particle, the harder it is for the filter to remove it. AquaKlear applies an electric charge to the small particles so they stick together to form larger clumps that are easily removed by the filter. Furthermore, the larger clumps do not penetrate as far into the filter, making it easier to clean. Enhanced filtration means the duration of backwashing is reduced, the amount of water used for backwashing is reduced, and pool water is crystal clear.
